Stauning Smoked R.Y.E. is a groundbreaking release from the West Jutland distillery, marking the first time Stauning introduces a smoked rye whisky. This Limited Studio Edition is not only a new style but also the debut of Stauning’s redesigned bottle, which will be rolled out across the entire range.

The whisky is made from floor-malted Danish rye and barley, dried with local peat and heather from West Jutland. This creates an elegant and balanced smoke profile that supports the complex layers of flavor. Distilled in copper stills heated with direct fire and matured first in new American oak casks and then in hand-selected Moscatel sherry casks, it develops into a rich and layered dram.

The aroma offers floral notes, smoke, and berries, while the taste reveals dark fruits, caramel, and gentle spice. Its golden amber color and structured character make this a sophisticated whisky with a clear identity.

Stauning Smoked R.Y.E. is part of the Studio Edition series and produced in a limited run of 2,500 bottles. It is 4 years old, bottled at 53.0% ABV, and reflects Stauning’s experimental spirit and local roots.

Stauning Smoked R.Y.E. | Porter Beer Cask is a limited‑edition release of Stauning’s smoked rye whisky, finished for the first time in porter beer casks. The whisky is made from locally grown West Jutland rye and barley, floor‑malted and kiln‑dried at the distillery, and smoked with Danish peat and heather. This creates a natural Nordic smoke profile where the grain character stands out clearly: spicy rye, soft malt and an elegant, gentle smoke.

The whisky is first matured in heavily charred American virgin oak casks, adding depth, sweetness and structure. It is then finished in porter beer casks from the acclaimed Danish brewery To Øl. These casks enhance roasted notes such as coffee, dark chocolate, brown sugar and dried fruit, without overshadowing the warm rye spice or the mild peat‑and‑heather smoke. The result is a full‑bodied, creamy and harmonious whisky with a distinct “malt‑on‑malt” profile.

On the nose you’ll find roasted malt, vanilla and campfire smoke. The palate is rich and rounded with rye bread, beeswax and orange peel, followed by ripe cherries, dark chocolate and warm spices. The finish is long and warming with plum, raisins, brown sugar, coffee and a hint of golden tobacco, balanced by fresh rye spice and gentle smoke.

Stauning Traditional Oloroso Cask 2010/2013 – Danish Single Malt Whisky

Stauning Traditional Oloroso Cask 2010 is a truly special whisky in a Danish context. It was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2013, making it a young whisky of just 3 years. Nevertheless, it surprises with a complexity and richness normally associated with much older releases. With an alcohol strength of 52.8% and a limited edition of only 554 numbered bottles, this is an exclusive and collectible release.

The whisky is produced by Stauning Distillery, pioneers of Danish whisky. This edition marks the first Stauning Single Malt matured in Oloroso sherry casks, and it was officially released on November 27, 2013. Stauning is known for working with small batch sizes, craftsmanship, and an uncompromising approach to quality, which is clearly reflected in this bottling.

The whisky has undergone an Oloroso Cask Finish, meaning its final maturation took place in sherry casks. This has a pronounced influence on both aroma and flavor, with sherry notes standing out clearly. Despite its young age, the whisky appears rich, full-bodied, and with a maturity that feels far older than three years in cask.

The nose opens with sweetness and spice. Vanilla and pepper are immediately noticeable, bringing freshness and warmth.
