Trolden started life as a brewery in Kolding and ended up distilling some of Denmark's most inventive gin variants - from a coffee-infused edition to a Christmas release that smells like all of December at once. Handmade since 2005, slow since forever.

About Trolden Gin

Trolden Destilleri & Bryghus is a Danish microdistillery in Kolding that began as a brewery before spirits production became a natural extension of the same craft DNA. The gin is distilled in small batches on hand-hammered pot stills, and the experimental approach - with variants ranging from classic London Dry style to coffee and Christmas editions - makes Trolden an easy place for beginners to discover just how broadly Danish gin can taste. For the more experienced gin enthusiast, it's precisely that willingness to experiment beyond the classic botanicals that makes Trolden worth following release after release.

History & Background

Trolden was founded in Kolding and has distilled handmade spirits since 2005, with roots in a brewery that laid the foundation for the company's philosophy of slow, unfiltered craft. Over time Trolden expanded its range from beer to gin, rum, whisky, vodka and liqueur, all produced at the same address in Kolding. The distillery now runs a visitor centre with tastings and tours, where guests can follow the whole process from pot still to bottle.

Production & Style

Trolden distils its gin in small batches on hand-hammered copper pot stills, a method that gives each batch its own personal stamp rather than the uniformity industrial gin production typically aims for. Botanicals vary from release to release, but juniper always forms the backbone, while seasonal and experimental ingredients - such as coffee beans or Christmas spices - add extra layers of character to selected bottles.
