Solear is Barbadillo's flagship Manzanilla and one of the best-selling sherries from Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

    Expert's Description

  • Bottle of Cream sherry from Bodegas Gutierrez Colosia
    Item no.: 22227222-893

Cream sherry is a hybrid - an Oloroso joined by sweet Pedro Ximénez, and the result is a sherry that unites two opposite worlds in one glass.

    Expert's Description

Bodegas Gutierrez Colosia Cream is a Sherry from El Puerto de Santa María, Spain made from a blend of Palomino and Pedro Ximénez, bottled at 18% ABV.

The wine is originally produced as an Oloroso, then sweetened with Pedro Ximénez, giving it its round, creamy character. The Cream sherry concept was originally developed for the English market, which preferred a sweeter style than the dry Spanish classics.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Concentration from the Oloroso combined with Pedro Ximénez that stirs the senses.

    Palate

  • Bottle of Oloroso sherry from Bodegas Gutierrez Colosia
    Item no.: 22227222-891

Oloroso is sherry's powerful counterpart to the light Fino - no flor layer, longer cask ageing and a depth that calls for an entirely different glass to enjoy properly.

    Expert's Description

Bodegas Gutierrez Colosia Oloroso is a Sherry from El Puerto de Santa María, Spain made from the Palomino grape, bottled at 18% ABV.

Unlike Fino, Oloroso is aged without the protective flor layer, allowing controlled oxidation and a deeper, more concentrated flavour. Despite its bone-dry style, the wine feels rich and creamy, with toasted aromas and a hint of orange peel that only comes with long cask ageing.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Toasted aromas and orange peel, with depth and intensity.

    Palate

Full and dense, with a remarkable creamy concentration despite the dry style.

    Finish

    Item no.: 22227222-888

Fino is sherry's white wine - a dry, pale and light style that lives off the flor yeast in the cask and drinks best while still young and fresh.

    Expert's Description

Bodegas Gutierrez Colosia Sherry Fino is a Sherry from El Puerto de Santa María, Spain made from the Palomino grape, bottled at 15% ABV.

The Fino is carried by the flor yeast, which settles as a protective layer on top of the wine during ageing and prevents oxidation, giving it its characteristic freshness and pale colour. This is a classic, handcrafted Fino from one of El Puerto's respected sherry houses.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Sharp and yeasty with a hint of almond.

    Palate

    Refreshingly dry and delicate.

    Finish

Short to medium, clean and crisp.

Ximénez-Spínola Jerez Seco Serie 2 is a dry sherry from a bodega otherwise almost exclusively known for its sweet Pedro Ximénez fortified wines.

    Expert's Description

Ximénez-Spínola Jerez Seco Serie 2 is a Spanish Sherry with an alcohol content of 17%. "Seco" means dry, making this release an unusual departure from the bodega's signature style, as Ximénez-Spínola is primarily specialised in the sweet Pedro Ximénez grape. With only 2,592 bottles produced, this is one of the house's rarer and more experimental releases, showing a different side of the bodega's craftsmanship than the classic PX fortified wines.

    Item no.: 22225555478-99632

When Díez-Mérito was founded in 2006, they inherited something rare: the entire stock from Diez Hermanos, a house with roots back to 1876. Victoria Regina Oloroso is the result of that legacy - 30 years in barrel, concentrated to the extreme.

    Expert's Description

Diez Merito 30 Años Victoria Regina Oloroso is a Sherry from Jerez, Spain made from the Palomino grape, bottled at 20% ABV.

The sherry carries the VORS classification - Very Old Rare Sherry - which requires a minimum average age of 30 years in the solera system. Although Bodegas y Viñedos Díez-Mérito is a relatively young company, they're regarded among Jerez's top producers, partly because they took over the mature stock from Diez Hermanos Wineries, established in 1876. This edition of Victoria Regina Oloroso has scored 93 points from Robert Parker.

    Tasting Notes

    Item no.: 22264-388447

Some bottles just get poured. Others carry a story every time they're taken down from a shelf.

A faded paper label, a German import stamp and an old regulatory seal from Jerez - this Dry Sack Sherry from Williams & Humbert once stood in a German wine shop, waiting to be poured.

    Expert's Description

Dry Sack Sherry Williams & Humbert is a Spanish Sherry from Jerez, blended from Amontillado and Oloroso with a touch of Pedro Ximénez, aged in American oak casks under the solera system.

The bottle carries a seal from the Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen Jerez-Xérès-Sherry and an import label from Epikur in Koblenz am Rhein, at the time part of the Deinhard wine house, which handled a large share of German imports of Spanish and Scotch brands through the 1960s and 1970s. The typeface on the label, the English-language storage instructions and the "Printed in Spain" mark all point to that same era.

The name Dry Sack comes from the Spanish word saca, the term for the wine drawn from the solera for bottling. When Williams & Humbert launched the Sherry in 1906, it was sold wrapped in coarse sackcloth, and the name has stuck ever since.

As a collector's bottle, no guarantee can be given for drinkability or the quality of the contents. We sell this bottle as a historical artefact, not as one intended for drinking.

    Tasting Notes

    Item no.: 22227865479-1106-197278450

Amontillado is sherry's shape-shifter - a Fino that has lost its flor partway through ageing and begun to oxidise instead, giving it two characters at once.

    Expert's Description

Lustau Almacenista Amontillado is an Amontillado Sherry from Jerez, Spain, with an alcohol content of 18.5%. Amontillado starts life as a biologically aged Fino under protective flor, but is at some point moved to casks where the flor dies or is removed, after which the wine begins to oxidise like an Oloroso. The result is a sherry that combines Fino's sharp freshness with Oloroso's depth and nutty character. This edition comes from Lustau's Almacenista programme, which since 1981 has sought out and bottled unique wines from small, family-run stockholders in Jerez.

    Tasting Notes

Almacenista means stockholder - a small producer who ages sherry in their own casks without exporting it themselves. Lustau's Almacenista range rescues these hidden gems from obscurity and bottles them under its own name.

    Expert's Description

Lustau Almacenista Manzanilla is a Manzanilla Sherry from Jerez, Spain, made from the Palomino Fino grape with an alcohol content of 17%. Manzanilla is a biologically aged sherry style produced exclusively in the coastal town of Sanlucar de Barrameda, where the humid sea climate encourages a thick flor yeast film on the wine's surface during ageing. This flor protects the wine from oxygen and gives Manzanilla its characteristic sharp, saline freshness. Lustau's Almacenista programme, launched in 1981, aims to rescue and bottle unique wines from small, family-run stockholders.

    Item no.: 22227865479-1106-197279865

Amontillado is often called the golden middle way of the sherry world - and Escuadrilla is one of the examples that shows exactly why.

    Expert's Description

Lustau Amontillado Escuadrilla is an Amontillado Sherry from Jerez, Spain, with an alcohol content of 18.5%. Amontillado starts life as a biologically aged Fino under protective flor, but at some point transitions to oxidative ageing when the flor dies or is removed, giving the style its characteristic dual nature. Escuadrilla combines exactly this Oloroso fullness with Fino freshness, making it an accessible yet still complex Amontillado from Bodegas Lustau.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Nuances of crisp apples and mocha on the nose, with a hint of fig.

    Palate

    Item no.: 22227865479-1106-197278444

The Pedro Ximenez grapes for this sherry are sun-dried on mats outside the bodega until they resemble raisins - that is the secret behind the intense sweetness that defines the style.

    Expert's Description

Lustau Centenario Murillo is a Pedro Ximenez Sherry from Jerez, Spain, made from the Pedro Ximenez grape with an alcohol content of 17%. Bodegas Lustau was founded in 1896 by Jose Ruiz-Berdejo as an almacenista, a stockholder who sold sherry on to the large export houses, and has developed its own brands since 1945. Centenario Murillo is a sweet sherry style, where the grapes are sun-dried before pressing and fermentation, significantly concentrating the sugar content. The sherry is carried by a fine acidity that keeps the sweetness from becoming overwhelming.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Intense on the nose, with raisins, dried fig and a hint of molasses.

    Palate

Sweet and full-bodied on the palate, supported by a fine acidity that keeps it balanced.

    Item no.: 22227865479-1106-197278446

Oloroso means "fragrant" in Spanish, and few sherry styles live up to the name better than Don Nuno - an oxidatively aged sherry allowed to develop for years without the protection of flor.

    Expert's Description

Lustau Oloroso Don Nuno is an Oloroso Sherry from Jerez, Spain, made from the Palomino Fino grape with an alcohol content of 20%. Unlike the biologically aged sherry styles such as Manzanilla and Fino, Oloroso is aged oxidatively without protective flor, giving the wine a deeper, more concentrated character and a darker colour. Don Nuno is aged at Bodegas Lustau using the classic solera system, where the Palomino Fino grape - which the vast majority of sherry is made from - develops the complexity that defines a well-developed Oloroso over years in cask.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Inviting on the nose, with bitter chocolate and hazelnuts.

    Palate

Full-bodied and complex on the palate, with a beautiful deep golden colour hinting at the long ageing.

  • Bottle of Lustau East India Solera Cream sherry
    Item no.: 22227865479-1106-197279868

The name East India comes from an era when sherry casks were shipped to India and back - a long sea voyage that inadvertently gave the wine extra maturation and a deeper character, which bodegas have since tried to recreate on purpose.

    Expert's Description

Lustau East India Solera Cream is a Cream Sherry from Jerez, Spain, made from Palomino Fino and Pedro Ximenez with an alcohol content of 20%. The style honours the historic practice where, in the 1700s and 1800s, sherry casks were sent by ship to the East Indies and back, exposing the wine to temperature swings that accelerated its maturation. East India Solera Cream is aged today according to the same philosophy at Bodegas Lustau, where a blend of Palomino Fino and Pedro Ximenez gives a creamy, elegant sherry with notably more depth than a regular Cream Sherry.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Full of nuts, raisins and a character reminiscent of creme brulee on the nose.

Where most sweet sherries rely on Pedro Ximenez, Emilin takes a different path and lets the Moscatel grape's natural, floral aroma take over.

    Expert's Description

Lustau Emilin Moscatel is a Moscatel Sherry from Jerez, Spain, made from the Moscatel grape with an alcohol content of 17%. Moscatel, like Pedro Ximenez, is a sweet sherry style where the grapes are sun-dried to concentrate the sugar content, but the Moscatel grape's natural aroma profile gives a more floral, perfumed character than the darker, raisin-driven Pedro Ximenez. Emilin is named in honour of one of the bodega's historic figures and represents Bodegas Lustau's interpretation of this less widespread but characterful sherry style.

    Tasting Notes

Every spring, when the flor layer in Lustau's barrels reaches its peak, the cellar master selects the best casks from each of the sherry triangle's three towns and bottles them unfiltered. This Fino comes from Jerez itself.

    Expert's Description

Lustau Fino En Rama de Jerez 2024 Spring Release is a Sherry from Jerez, Spain made from the Palomino grape, bottled at 15% ABV.

En Rama means "on the branch" and refers to sherry bottled straight from the cask without fining or filtration. Lustau is the only house to make three different En Rama sherries - one from each town of the sherry triangle, Jerez, Sanlúcar and El Puerto - to show how each town's microclimate shapes the sherry under the biological layer of flor yeast. This edition is from Jerez itself and is released every spring, when the flor layer is at its thickest.

    Tasting Notes

    Palate

Dry and crisp, with a lively, saline character from the flor ageing.

    Finish

Short to medium, clean and refreshing.

    Expert's Description

Lustau Fino En Rama El Puerto 2024 Spring Release is a Sherry from El Puerto de Santa María, Spain made from the Palomino grape, bottled at 15% ABV.

El Puerto sits on the coast between Jerez and Cádiz, and the town's humid but slightly warmer climate than Sanlúcar gives a Fino with more body and weight than its coastal sibling, while still keeping the sharp, dry character from the flor ageing. Expert's Description

Lustau Manzanilla En Rama Sanlúcar 2024 Spring Release is a Sherry from Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Spain made from the Palomino grape, bottled at 15% ABV.

Manzanilla is a Fino matured specifically in the coastal town of Sanlúcar, where the high humidity from the Atlantic makes the flor layer grow especially thick. That gives a more delicate, saline style than Fino from Jerez. As part of Lustau's annual En Rama series, this sherry is bottled straight from the cask without fining or filtration, when the flor layer is at its thickest in spring.

Palo Cortado is sherry's riddle - a style no one sets out to make deliberately, but which arises when a cask's development takes an unexpected turn during ageing.

    Expert's Description

Lustau Palo Cortado Peninsula is a Sherry from Jerez, Spain, made from the Palomino Fino grape with an alcohol content of 19%. Palo Cortado historically arises by chance, when a cask-aged sherry intended to become Amontillado loses its flor earlier than expected and develops in a more oxidative direction. The result combines Amontillado's aromatic finesse with Oloroso's rich, concentrated finish. Peninsula has been awarded double gold at international sherry competitions, underscoring the quality of this particular edition from Bodegas Lustau.

Manzanilla is aged exclusively in Sanlucar de Barrameda under a protective flor yeast film, which prevents oxidation and gives the wine its sharp, salt-tinged character. Expert's Description

Lustau Rare Cream Solera Superior is a Cream Sherry from Jerez, Spain, with an alcohol content of 20%. The sherry is based on the Palomino Fino grape, which the vast majority of sherry is made from, and achieves its creamy character by blending an oxidatively aged Oloroso base with a sweeter component, typically from Pedro Ximenez. The designation Solera Superior refers to a higher quality tier within the solera system, where the sherry has had longer to mature and develop complexity.

Lustau Vinagre de Jerez Reserva is a Sherry Vinegar from Jerez, Spain, made from sherry wine matured in the solera system.

The vinegar develops further from the aged sherry wine into a concentrated, aromatic vinegar with real depth - far beyond ordinary table vinegar. It clearly carries the imprint of the Oloroso and Amontillado styles, and the natural sweetness from the slow, oxidative ageing gives warmth and balance, while a nutty undertone makes it both powerful and harmonious.

  • Pedro Domecq Fad No 6 Sherry Vinhuset Erik Troels-Smith AS Vintage Bottle 70 cl
    Item no.: 22211-194147

Down in Erik Troels-Smith's own cellar in Copenhagen, the casks stood in a row, and from Fad No. 6 came a Sherry that was neither too dry nor too sweet – just full-bodied and round, the way people liked it back then.

    Expert's Description

Pedro Domecq Fad No. 6 is a Fortified Wine from Jerez de la Frontera in Spain, bottled in Denmark by the wine house Erik Troels-Smith A/S.

This bottle is a historical bottling, where the Sherry was shipped directly from Pedro Domecq in Jerez de la Frontera and then bottled at Erik Troels-Smith's own warehouse in Copenhagen – a common practice among Danish wine merchants of the time, who handled the final leg of the journey from cask to bottle themselves. The label describes the contents as a choice, old Sherry of particular fullness and not too dry a quality, pointing toward a medium or cream style rather than a dry Fino or Manzanilla. The name Fad No. 6 refers to the specific cask in the cellar's solera from which this particular Sherry was drawn – a system where younger and older vintages are blended over time, so the result is never a single vintage but a living blend with its own character.

Erik Troels-Smith A/S was founded in 1941 and traded wine and spirits from several of Europe's great houses. The bottle carries the company's name embossed directly into the glass, and the neck still holds the old Danish excise stamp for fortified wine – a small piece of paper that today tells almost as much about the bottle's age as it does about its contents.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

The aroma draws on what you'd expect from an old, cask-aged Sherry in a medium style: dried raisins, walnut and a hint of caramelised sugar, mingling with the characteristic oxidative scent of years spent in the cask.

    Palate

On the palate, expect a full, round Sherry with sweetness that never turns cloying – nuts, dried fruit and a light acidity that keeps it balanced, much as the label's own description suggests.

    Finish

Long and warm, with a finish of dark caramel and a dry edge that reminds you the grape behind it still has its roots in the dry Andalusian soil.

    Serving & Food Pairing

As a collector's bottle with no known alcohol content, this Sherry should be treated primarily as a historical object rather than one to open on a whim. If enjoyed, a medium Sherry like this is typically served at 10-14°C in a small, tulip-shaped Sherry glass that gathers the aromas. Skip decanting – the Sherry has already found its form through decades of ageing. On the table, the style pairs classically with blue cheese, walnuts and dark chocolate, or as a digestif after the meal.

    Did You Know?

The name Fad No. 6 lives on today. A modern version of the Sherry is still sold under Erik Troels-Smith's name, now produced by the Spanish house Barbadillo instead of Pedro Domecq – a rare example of a Danish wine house's own cask number outliving both decades and a change of producer.
