Alexandre Bonnet Champagne

In the village of Les Riceys, home to three appellations and one of Champagne's largest wine districts, Lucien Noble began growing grapes in 1934. His passion was carried forward through generations until the Alexandre Bonnet name was officially founded in 1970. Here, on geologically unique soils, some of the Côte des Bar's finest Pinot Noir grapes are grown.

Alexandre Bonnet Les Riceys Blanc de Noir Champagne is made from the Pinot Noir grape alone - a grape that carries particular historical weight in Les Riceys.

    Expert's Description

Alexandre Bonnet Les Riceys Blanc de Noir is a Champagne from Les Riceys, Aube, France, made from 100% Pinot Noir with an alcohol content of 12.5%. Domaine Alexandre Bonnet, which took its name in 1970 and today farms 47 hectares in Les Riceys, presses the dark grapes gently to extract only the pale juice, producing a white Champagne with a deeper, more powerful character than a typical Blanc de Blancs. Les Riceys is the only commune in Champagne with three AOCs, and Pinot Noir is the very cornerstone of the house's style.

    Did You Know?

A Blanc de Noirs is a white Champagne made entirely from dark grapes - grape juice is colourless, and it is only contact with the skins that gives red wine its colour, which Champagne houses avoid through gentle pressing.

Alexandre Bonnet Les Riceys Rosé Champagne is a delicious rosé with fine bubbles, made in the village so historically linked to rosé wine that it lent its name to the rare Rosé des Riceys appellation.

    Expert's Description

Alexandre Bonnet Les Riceys Rosé is a Champagne from Les Riceys, Aube, France, made from 100% Pinot Noir with an alcohol content of 12.5%. Les Riceys is the only commune in all of Champagne with three AOCs, and the Pinot Noir grape holds a particularly special place here, partly thanks to the local saignée tradition also used for the local Rosé des Riceys.

About Alexandre Bonnet

The Champagne house Alexandre Bonnet carries a long, tradition-rich history. The village of Les Riceys holds three appellations (AOC), and its roughly 2,086 hectares form one of the largest wine-producing districts in the Champagne region. Some of the finest Pinot Noir grapes in the Côte des Bar are grown right here, thanks to the area's distinctive geology and geography. For collectors, the house's strong Pinot Noir focus gives a distinct, powerful champagne style, while newcomers can use Alexandre Bonnet as a solid entry point into the lesser-known Côte des Bar region.

History & Background

The story begins in 1934, when Lucien Noble started growing vines in Les Riceys, a passion he passed on to his descendant René. The Alexandre Bonnet name itself was founded in 1970, named in honor of the family legacy, and the house has since specialized in Pinot Noir from the Côte des Bar. Today the house is carried forward with the same focus on local grapes and the unique geology that makes Les Riceys special within the Champagne region.

Production & Style

The champagne is made primarily from Pinot Noir grapes using the méthode champenoise, often fuller and more fruit-driven than classic Chardonnay champagne.

Signature Style

Full-Bodied, Fruity, Round
The flavor offers a full, red-fruit-forward character typical of Pinot Noir-driven champagne.
