About Chiappini

Chiappini is one of the most respected producers in the Bolgheri region of Tuscany, where the family has grown wine since the 1950s. For newcomers it's a gateway into one of Italy's most sought-after wine regions; for collectors, the flagship wine Guado de' Gemoli is especially notable after American wine magazine Wine Enthusiast awarded it a perfect 100 points in 2013, a rare accolade that cemented the house's place among Bolgheri's absolute elite.

History & Background

Giovanni Chiappini moved to Bolgheri in the 1950s, then a poor and overlooked area where land was cheap and the wine was sold almost exclusively locally. He bought land and began making his own wine, decades before the region was truly discovered by the international wine market and land prices exploded. Today the vineyard is run by Giovanni's two daughters, Martina and Lisa, and the house's wines have gained ever-greater international recognition, culminating in Wine Enthusiast's perfect 100 points for the flagship wine Guado de' Gemoli in 2013.

Production & Style

The grapes grow in Bolgheri's coastal climate, and the wines are often made with international grape varieties alongside Italian ones.

Signature Style

Bold, Fruity, Oak-Influenced
The wine offers a bold, fruity character with clear oak influence.
