The wine consists of 100% Tempranillo. The selection of the grapes is carried out using Vistalys, an optical selection method from Bucher Vaslin, which performs a strict control so that only perfect grapes pass through. The stems are removed from the grapes without crushing them. The wine is aged for a total of 10 months in new American oak barrels.

Color: This is a highly concentrated and very dark red wine.
Nose: A lively, delicate nose with licorice and fresh fruit aromas of the Tempranillo variety, with spicy elements. Essential aromas of fruit compote.

Rolland & Galarreta was created by French winemaker and consultant Michel Rolland and Spanish wine visionary Javier Galarreta. Their shared passion for wine and deep know-how has produced remarkable tasting experiences that bridge French finesse and Spanish power. For the newcomer it's an accessible gateway into two great wine traditions at once; for the collector, the name Michel Rolland alone is a mark of quality, as he is regarded as one of the world's most influential wine consultants and has advised some of Bordeaux's most prestigious chateaux.

History & Background

The partnership between Rolland and Galarreta grew out of decades of mutual respect between two wine regions that have traditionally viewed each other as rivals. Michel Rolland built his name consulting for a long list of Bordeaux chateaux before expanding his work internationally, while Javier Galarreta has roots in the Spanish wine culture around Rioja and Ribera del Duero. Together they chose to let the grapes and the terroir speak, rather than forcing a single style onto both countries' wines.
