    The Clos d'en Ferran plot lies near the village of Porrera in Priorat, on soil of 400-million-year-old slate - among the oldest rock in the region.

    Expert's Description

    R&G Rolland 2017 Clos D'en Ferran is a Red Wine from Spain from the DOQ Priorat appellation, made from a blend of Carignan (Cariñena) and Garnacha, bottled at 14.5% ABV.

    The wine is created jointly by French wine consultant Michel Rolland and Spanish winemaker Javier Galarreta, and belongs to the house's Super Premium category. After harvest, the wine is aged for around 18 months in American oak barrels.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

    Dark berry fruit and a mineral hint of slate.

    Palate

    Full-bodied and structured, well suited to stews and red meat.

    Finish

    Long with a firm tannin structure.
