Diamond Distillery

Diamond Distillery in Guyana houses some of the most historic distillation equipment in the entire rum world, including the legendary Enmore wooden still. The site is a living legacy of the sugar colony era's bustling plantation economy, when dozens of distilleries once stood scattered along the Demerara River. Today that entire heritage is gathered in one place, and every bottle carries a piece of that history forward.

  • Diamond 2001 2022 Valinch Mallet 20 Year Traditional Guyana Rum bottle
    Item no.: 2227865479-1106-197280322-125

On the banks of the Demerara River in Guyana, the Diamond distillery holds over 300 years of rum history, and a 20 year old single cask from there has now been captured by Valinch & Mallet under the SWR Skeldon mark.

    Expert Description

Diamond 2001/2022 Valinch & Mallet 20 Year Traditional is a Guyana Rum from a single cask, aged for 20 years and bottled at 50.7%.

The rum comes from the Diamond distillery, operated by Demerara Distillers Limited and located on the Demerara River, where sugar plantations and distilling have existed since around 1670. Diamond is today the last remaining distillery in a country that once housed dozens of sugar estates, and the site brings together several historic still styles under one roof, including the famous wooden stills from Port Mourant, Versailles and Enmore. This particular cask carries the SWR Skeldon mark and is column distilled, giving it a lighter, more elegant style than the heavy pot still rums Diamond is also known for. The cask was selected by Valinch & Mallet, the Italian independent bottler, and bottled as cask number 78 with a total yield of 242 bottles. The rum was distilled in 2001 and aged for 20 years before being bottled in 2022.

The result is an elegant, dry rum, where spice and tropical fruit meet a light, floral finish with a touch of oak.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Dried plums, sandalwood and a hint of black pepper.

    Palate

Spiced and elegant with tropical fruit and a mild honey sweetness.

    Finish

Light and dry with lingering spice and oak.

    Item no.: 059763-615-876

The Diamond distillery in Guyana holds more still styles than most other distilleries in the world combined. This bottle comes from one of them – the Savalle column, historically linked to the heavy Port Mourant profile.

    Expert Description

RomDeLuxe Wild Series Rum #51 is a Guyanese Single Cask Rum distilled on the Diamond distillery's Savalle column and bottled at cask strength 57.5%.

The bottle comes from RomDeLuxe, the Danish independent bottler founded by Claus Andersen, Kim Pedersen and Michael Ginnerup, known for tracking down and bottling rum from forgotten and single casks around the world. Wild Series is the company's most rustic line, with labels decorated by wild animals, letting the rum speak entirely for itself – no added sugar, no added colour.

Marque MPM refers to a profile historically tied to the Port Mourant distillery, even though the rum today is distilled at Diamond. It matured for 13 years before being drawn from a single cask and bottled without filtration. This release ships without its box.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Dark molasses, black pepper and a touch of charred wood meet dried fruit and a hint of tar – classic for the heavier Guyanese style.

    Palate

Powerful and oily with liquorice, dark chocolate and spiced oak, all lifted by the cask strength without turning sharp.

    Finish

Long and warm with smoky caramel notes and a dry, woody finish that lingers.

    Item no.: 22254-887525 - 2

Volbeat XXV Rum Limited Edition Premium Rum 43%

Volbeat XXV Rum Limited Edition marks a 25-year anniversary that is not just celebrated - it is immortalised. This rum was created as a distillate of the band's energy, attitude and history, and the result is a dark, golden and uncompromising release, only found in 2,300 individually numbered bottles. Once they are gone, they are gone, and previous anniversary editions have shown that Volbeat fans do not wait. This bottle is therefore already a sought-after collector's item, packaged in a black and gold gift box with clear Volbeat identity and details that speak directly to those who want to own a piece of the band's universe. It is a rum for collectors, for gift-givers with an edge, and for anyone who knows that the most interesting limited editions disappear while others are still deciding.

The rum is created as a premium blend of four distinctive rums that together provide depth, warmth and power. Three of the components come from Guyana, distilled between 2001 and 2014, delivering the dark base, molasses, spice, body and the characteristic sweetness Guyana is known for. The fourth component is a Jamaican pot still rum from 2015, adding fruity energy, an aromatic edge and a raw tropical kick. The combination gives a rum with massive volume, warmth and intensity - exactly the expression you would expect from an anniversary rum carrying Volbeat's name.

Volbeat XXV is blended at The Main Rum Company Limited in Liverpool by Master Blender Ian Smith, and Michael Poulsen has himself been involved in shaping the rum's expression. This means the rum is not just a product with a Volbeat logo, but part of the band's creative universe. It comes across dark, distinctive and original, with an attitude matching the music and the history behind it.

The flavour profile is deep and intense with notes of overripe tropical fruit, dark molasses, demerara sugar, warm spices, oak and cocoa. On the palate it is full-bodied, warm and lively with a syrupy sweetness, tropical nuances, a spiced edge and a long, warm finish that lingers and develops. It is a rum that can be enjoyed slowly, shared with fellow fans, or kept as a collector's item that only becomes more interesting with time.

Volbeat XXV Rum Limited Edition is created for those who want a rum with darkness, depth and power - and at the same time own a piece of Volbeat's 25-year history.

A rum created for collectors, enthusiasts and Volbeat fans wanting a mature, classic and characterful Guyana rum with a unique touch.

About Diamond Distillery

Diamond Distillery is the heart behind many of the world's most respected rums, operated by Demerara Distillers Limited and home to a collection of historic stills, several rescued from now-closed neighboring distilleries along the Demerara River. That collection of unique, often century-old distillation apparatus makes Diamond Distillery a mecca for rum collectors, while the broader range gives beginners a solid introduction to the Guyana style.

History & Background

The distilling tradition in the area dates back to the 1600s, when sugar plantations were first established in Guyana, and the Diamond site itself has roots stretching far back into the region's colonial sugar history. Today Diamond Distillery gathers the legacy of a long line of historic plantation distilleries under one roof, after operations were gradually centralized throughout the 20th century.

Production & Style

The distillery uses both traditional wooden stills, like the famous Enmore still, and modern column distillation, giving an unusually wide range of flavor profiles from a single site. The rum is made from sugarcane molasses and aged in the tropical climate, where the heat significantly speeds up maturation compared to temperate regions.

Signature Style

Full-Bodied, Molasses-Driven, Complex
The flavor offers a full-bodied, molasses-driven character with a complex depth that varies significantly depending on which still expression is used.
