Colombia's only family-owned rum house, three generations of the same family, and a solera stretching all the way to 21 years. La Hechicera is a rarity in the rum world.
Expert description
La Hechicera Reserva Familiar Extra Añejo is a Rum from Colombia, blended in a solera system from rums 12 to 21 years old in former bourbon casks, bottled at 40%.
The rum comes from La Hechicera, founded in 2012 in Barranquilla by the Riascos family, who have preserved the craft of rum-making through three generations. The rum is produced at Casa Santana in Colombia without added colour or sweetening, just cask to bottle. Reserva Familiar is the house's most ambitious solera blend, where the long maturation gives a deep, rich and well-integrated profile.
