Ramazzotti Sambuca

Ramazzotti has been closing out Italian meals since the mid-1800s, when the house first made its name with a dark herbal bitter. The sambuca builds on that same craft tradition, sweet and clean, with an aniseed profile that has become a benchmark in the category. It's a name that has survived changing fashions simply by sticking to its recipe.

About Ramazzotti

Ramazzotti Sambuca is an Italian sambuca from one of the country's most familiar spirits houses. For the newcomer it's a well-balanced, classic sambuca experience; for the connoisseur, the Ramazzotti name is most strongly linked to the house's original dark herbal bitter from 1815, still one of Italy's best-selling digestifs, making the sambuca a natural extension of a brand with deep roots in Italian drinking culture.

History & Background

Ramazzotti was founded in Milan in 1815 by Ausano Ramazzotti, who developed a herbal bitter based on a secret blend of herbs and plants. The bitter quickly became an institution in Italian cafés and bars, and the Ramazzotti name is today one of the most recognisable in Italian digestif culture. The sambuca is a newer addition to the range, but draws on the same long tradition of herbal craftsmanship that made the house's original bitter famous.

Production & Style

The sambuca is distilled from star anise following a classic recipe, giving it its characteristic sweetness.
