In 1765, an Irish officer named Richard Hennessy settled in the town of Cognac and founded a trading house that has since become the best-selling Cognac name on the planet. VS is where most people meet Hennessy for the first time.
Expert's Description
Hennessy VS French Cognac is a Cognac, a blend of eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fine Bois, bottled at 40%.
Hennessy was founded in 1765 and is today the world's best-selling Cognac house, known for blending eaux-de-vie from several of Cognac's six districts into a consistent, recognisable style. VS, Very Special, is the house's youngest classification and requires at least two years of ageing, but Hennessy's cellar masters routinely draw on older vintages to give the blend extra depth.
That makes VS a Cognac that is both easy to reach for and still carries a clear imprint of the craft that has made Hennessy the name most people associate with Cognac in general.
