Chili Skud Vindstyrke 6 (Ghost Bitter) is a Danish liquorice liqueur with chili at 20% ABV from the Chili Klaus brand, based on vodka with liquorice and chili added.
The shot is part of the Chili Klaus Ghost Bitter range, which is graded on a "wind force scale" from 1 to 12, where the number indicates the strength of the chili heat. Wind Force 6 sits at the moderate end of the scale and suits most drinkers who enjoy a hot taste experience, while the stronger Wind Force 12 is made with the far hotter Carolina Reaper chili.

About Chili Klaus

Chili Klaus is the brand of Danish musician and entertainer Claus Pilgaard, known for his viral video series in which he eats chili peppers with celebrities and other guests. The range today spans several hundred products, all with chili as the main ingredient, each rated on a wind-force scale from 1 to 15.

History & Background

Claus Pilgaard, originally from Tjørring near Herning, moved to Aarhus in 1992 to study at the Royal Academy of Music. His interest in chili began on a restaurant trip to London in the mid-1980s, where he ordered the menu's hottest dish and experienced something close to a revelation. Since it was almost impossible to find hot chilies in Denmark in the 1990s, he began importing seeds and growing them himself. In 2008 he began growing his own chilies in earnest, and in 2013 he uploaded his first chili video to YouTube, kickstarting what has become the Chili Klaus universe with more than 500,000 followers.

Chili Klaus's products are made at the company's chili factory at Aarhus harbour, where a small, dedicated team produces the range of liqueurs, sauces and other chili products, each rated on the 1-15 heat scale.
