    Compagnie des Indes Martinique comes from the Dillon distillery in Martinique. The rum is fermented and distilled from fresh sugar cane juice, after which it is aged for 4 years in Martinique and then aged and bottled for 9 years in Europe exclusively for Denmark. The color is very light golden, with a beautiful, natural aroma of floral and fruity, with hints of rubber and grass. The taste offers unique notes of peach, herbs, tarragon and mint

    This Compagnie des Indes rum is a unique independently bottled single cask from an unknown distillery in Panama. The rum has been aged for 13 years in new American oak barrels and then exclusively bottled for Denmark. Compagnie des Indes recommends this rum as a good introduction to cask strength rums for the uninitiated.

    Compagnie des Indes Panama has an amber frave with aromas of mirabelle plums, apricot and cinnamon. The taste offers soft and round notes of shortbread, vanilla and ripe red apples despite the alcohol strength.

About Compagnie des Indes

Compagnie des Indes doesn't own a distillery of its own but acts as an independent bottler, sourcing and distributing rum from distilleries around the world, much like the independent bottlers known from the whisky world. Founder Florent Beuchet has built a reputation for finding extraordinary single casks, many sold exclusively in markets like Denmark, making the house something close to a cult favorite among rum collectors.

History & Background

The company was founded by Frenchman Florent Beuchet, who named it after the historic East and West India companies that traded exclusive goods, including rum, back to Europe from the colonies. Since its founding, Compagnie des Indes has expanded its network to distilleries across the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Pacific islands such as Fiji and Indonesia.

Production & Style

The rum is bought as finished distillate from each individual distillery and either bottled as single cask or blended into light, transparent blends, always disclosing origin country and distillation method. Many of the Danish exclusive releases come from specially selected casks Compagnie des Indes has itself sourced and further matured.
