Trinidad's only distillery, T.D.L., has a character so recognisable that rum connoisseurs can spot it blind. Compagnie des Indes lets it speak entirely for itself here after 13 years in cask.
Expert Description
Compagnie des Indes 2005/2018 T.D.L. 13 Year is a Trinidad Rum from a single cask, distilled in 2005, bottled in July 2018 at 45%.
The rum comes from Trinidad Distillers Limited, often abbreviated T.D.L., the only operating distillery on Trinidad and therefore the mandatory source for any Trinidad rum. After distillation, the rum spent 13 years in cask in the Caribbean, before being selected and bottled by the French independent bottler Compagnie des Indes with no added colour or sweetness.
T.D.L.'s rum is known for a distinct, medicinal, menthol-like character that makes it easily recognisable among connoisseurs, and which this bottling shows in a mature, well-developed form after over a decade of ageing.
Tasting Notes
