    This rum was distilled in Panama in 2007 and bottled in 2021 as part of Blackadder’s acclaimed Raw Cask series, where each bottle contains natural cask sediment and no filtration – exactly as it came from the barrel. Aged for 14 years in a tropical climate, the maturation intensifies the influence of the wood and delivers a rich, mature character.

About Blackadder Rum

Blackadder Rum comes from the Scottish independent bottler Blackadder, best known for their raw, unfiltered whisky bottlings. For the newcomer it's a chance to meet rum in its most honest form, bottled at full cask strength without colouring or chill-filtration; for the collector, the Blackadder name is itself a mark of quality - proof that the same rigorous selection that made them famous in whisky now extends to their rum range.

History & Background

Blackadder International was founded in 1995 by Robin Tucek as an independent bottler that stood out from the start by insisting on raw cask strength and minimal interference with the spirit. The philosophy - no added colour, no unnecessary filtration, and often visible cask sediment in the bottle - became the firm's whisky trademark and has since carried straight over into their rum range. Blackadder sources rum from several Caribbean distilleries and bottles each batch individually, so every bottle carries a unique fingerprint of the cask it matured in.

Production & Style

Blackadder's philosophy is that "the cask is king" - a stance that has shaped the company's practice of bottling primarily single cask releases at cask strength, without added colour and with minimal filtration, often in clear glass so the spirit's natural colour can be seen.
