Blackadder never bottles its Raw Cask series with filtration or added colour, meaning every bottle comes completely unadorned, straight from cask to glass.
Expert Description
Trinidad 2011/2021 Blackadder Raw Cask 11 Year Finest Trinidad is a Trinidad Rum from a single cask, aged for 11 years and bottled at 66.4%.
The rum is bottled by Blackadder International, the family-run Scottish bottler founded in 1995 by Robin Tucek. Under the Raw Cask mark, Blackadder bottles rum and whisky straight from the cask with no filtration whatsoever, neither chill nor mechanical, and no added colouring. This means small fragments of cask char can travel into the bottle, something Blackadder itself calls "cask throwings" and uses as proof that the rum is as natural as it can be. This Trinidadian rum was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2021 after 11 years of ageing, at a high natural cask strength of 66.4%.
The result is an intense, spiced rum, where dark fruit and molasses meet a long, burning finish with notes of pitch and oak.
