In the Valle de Tequila, on an old estate in the small town of Amatitán, sits Hacienda de Oro. The Partida family has been growing agave and distilling tequila here since the 1970s, and this is where Mayaciel Rosa comes from, a tequila that breaks the rules and finds its colour in red wine barrels.
Expert Description
Mayaciel Rosa is a 100% agave Mexican Tequila, finished in Malbec red wine barrels and bottled at 44%.
Mayaciel is a small, family-run tequila house that grows its own agave on fields in the Valle de Tequila. The plants are left to mature for six to eight years, entirely without artificial fertiliser, before being harvested and distilled at Hacienda de Oro. With the Rosa expression, Mayaciel has created an entirely new category: the tequila is finished for several weeks in hand-selected Malbec barrels from a winery in the Mexican highlands, which gives it its distinctive reddish colour and aroma of dark berries.

Nose
Dark berries, lifted by a clean, unmistakable agave aroma.
Palate
