Spirit of Hven is distilled at Backafallsbyn on the island of Hven by Henric Molin, who uses his scientific background to fine-tune everything from water quality to distillation pressure. The distillery also produces whisky and aquavit, but the gin has become one of its most striking expressions of that precise, experimental approach.

History & Background

Henric Molin was originally a physicist, but returned to his childhood island of Hven to found a distillery where scientific accuracy met classic craft. The location in the middle of the Öresund gives a unique microclimate that Molin has used to create a gin with a clear local identity, while building one of Scandinavia's most respected small distilleries.

Production & Style

The gin is distilled in traditional copper stills with juniper and a selection of botanicals, with every parameter of the process tightly controlled to ensure consistency from batch to batch.
