About Mapuche

Mapuche takes its name from Chile's indigenous people, who for centuries have lived off the land in the shadow of the Andes. For newcomers it's an accessible, fruit-forward Chilean wine with great value for money; for collectors, Mapuche represents the newer wave of Chilean wines increasingly gaining international recognition for combining high quality with markedly lower prices than the classic European wine regions.

History & Background

Chile's modern wine industry really took off in the late 1800s, when French vines were planted in the country's fertile valleys, but it's only in recent decades that Chilean wine has truly made its mark internationally. Mapuche is part of this newer generation, named in honour of the country's indigenous people and their close connection to the land. We have only limited specific documentation of the producer's own founding year, so details are kept deliberately general.

Production & Style

The grapes typically grow in Mendoza's high-altitude, dry climate, giving them a concentrated, sun-ripened character.
