Quinta Do Infantado Port Wine

While most Douro houses for generations sold their wine on to the big trading houses in Vila Nova de Gaia, Quinta do Infantado went its own way. The Roseira family chose to bottle their port directly on the estate - a quiet act of rebellion that gave them the freedom to shape their own, more wine-like style. This is port with a connection to the soil rather than trading-house prestige.

    Quinta do Infantado
Quinta do Infantado has always been at the forefront of innovation within the traditionally historic and conservative world of Port. They were among the first small estates to bottle their own wines on the property in 1979 – and among the first to seriously implement organic practices in the region. Owned by the Roseira family since the early 19th century and located in the small Gontelho district, the estate is known for some of the very best vineyard sites for Port. Their style is slightly unconventional – they do not chase sweetness and heavy extraction, but instead seek balance, structure, and are unafraid to give the wines an almost dry impression. This is Port with terroir, purity, and remarkable versatility when it comes to food pairing.

Quinta do Infantado Vintage Port is the essence of a great year in the Douro, where the grapes reach a level of quality rarely seen. Only the very best fruit is selected for their Vintage bottlings, and production follows traditional methods: no destemming, no filtration, and ageing in enormous wooden vats over 100 years old, which add depth and character to the wine.

In the glass, you’ll find an elegant and pure aroma of fine red fruits, floral notes, and a subtle green touch that adds complexity. The palate is medium‑bodied with impressive structure and excellent acidity. The spicy notes on the finish tie everything together, resulting in a wine that is harmonious now and built for long ageing.

A classic Vintage Port that can be enjoyed young for its freshness – or cellared for special moments in the decades to come.
