History & Background

The name and logo build on a story about the Georgian noble house of Eristavi, whose coat of arms reportedly featured a wolf profile, and about a vodka originally said to have been distilled for Russian Prince Nikolai Alexandrovich in the early 1800s. The brand as we know it today, however, was founded in France in the 1950s, where the French founders drew on the Caucasian story to build an identity around nobility, strength and wildness. Eristoff later became part of Bacardi's international portfolio, securing the brand global distribution. Today the vodka is still produced in France to the original recipe, while the Georgian wolf story lives on as part of the brand's DNA.
