About Nitus Cava

Nitus Cava offers lovely Spanish bubbles available in three styles: Semi Secco, Rosé and Brut Reserve. The cava is produced by Bodegas Sojosa in Penedès using the same bottle-fermentation method as champagne. For the newcomer, Nitus is an easy, affordable entry into sparkling wine with surprisingly high quality; for the connoisseur, the charm lies in the fact that the bodega remains family-run and holds on to traditional methods despite producing 1.5 million bottles a year.

History & Background

Bodegas Sojosa was founded in 1985 by Arturo Ramos and Joseph M. Delgado Goma in Penedès, the Spanish cava district just a few miles from Barcelona. From the start the bodega produced only cava, but has since expanded into a small production of still table wine from the same region. With 2,300 square metres of underground cellars and an annual output of 1.5 million bottles, the house has grown into one of the region's more solid cava producers while remaining in family hands.

Production & Style

The cava is made from classic Spanish grape varieties such as Macabeo, Xarel-lo, and Parellada, bottle-fermented using the méthode traditionnelle.

Signature Style

Fresh, Citrus-Forward, Fine Bubbles
The flavor offers a fresh, citrus-forward character with a fine, lasting mousse.
