Speyburn Whisky

Speyburn was built in 1897 in Rothes and is known for its distinctive pagoda roof, which still adorns the label today. It was one of the last Victorian distilleries built before a long period of stagnation hit the industry around the turn of the century. Under Inver House Distillers, Speyburn has for decades been one of the most affordable and accessible names from Speyside.

About Speyburn Whisky

Speyburn is a Scottish distillery in Speyside, known for its classic, approachable style and an iconic distillery image on the label.

History & Background

The distillery was built in 1897 by John Hopkins & Company, just in time to mark Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee that same year, giving it its first marketing story. It was one of the last new sites built during the Victorian whisky boom, before a sharp downturn in demand halted the construction of new distilleries for decades. Speyburn survived the crisis and is today owned by Inver House Distillers, who have made it one of the most widely available and accessible Speyside names on the international market.

The whisky is distilled using classic methods and aged in oak casks, giving a light, approachable Speyside profile.

Signature Style
