Winegrowers of Ara

A community of growers behind one of New Zealand's well-known vineyards. Winegrowers of Ara was founded in 2001 by three families sharing a passion for wine and sustainability in Marlborough. Today they farm 420 of the estate's 1,600 hectares, mainly with Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, using certified sustainable methods.

Winegrowers of Ara is a collective of grape growers behind the Ara vineyard in Marlborough, New Zealand, a region that was only really developed for wine growing in the 1970s. Marlborough is today world-famous for its Sauvignon Blanc, a style that differs markedly from its more restrained French forebears through its intense, aromatic fruitiness. The Ara vineyard is one of the region's larger combined growing sites, where several growers contribute grapes under the same umbrella. New Zealand's isolated location and cool, sunny climate have made the country one of the world's most respected names in modern Sauvignon Blanc.
