About Dewar's

Dewar's is one of the biggest names in blended Scotch Whisky, a bottle found in nearly every bar worldwide, yet one that still hides genuine craft behind its accessible face. The blend draws on whisky from multiple distilleries, including the house's own Aberfeldy, and is built to be round, soft, and reliable wherever the bottle is opened.

History & Background

John Dewar founded the firm in 1846 as a wine and spirits merchant in Perth, but it was his sons John Alexander and Tommy Dewar who truly turned Dewar's into an international name by traveling the world selling the whisky in person. Today Dewar's is owned by Bacardi following a 1998 acquisition, but the blend still proudly carries the family name.

Production & Style

The whisky is blended from a wide range of malt and grain whiskies and then undergoes the house's signature "double ageing" process, where the finished blend rests further in casks after assembly. The extra resting period gives the components time to marry, resulting in a noticeably softer, more harmonious whisky.
