Toasted Caribbean brown sugar is cask-aged and added to Citadelle Reserve Gin in this sweetly rounded tribute to the gin traditions of 18th and 19th century England.
Expert's description
Citadelle No Mistake Old Tom Gin is a French Old Tom Gin from Maison Ferrand, cask-aged and bottled at 46%.
The gin was first launched in October 2016 and builds on Citadelle's cask-aged Reserve Gin.
Caribbean brown sugar is lightly toasted, alcoholized and aged in spirit casks for 3-4 months, after which it is added to the Reserve Gin and spends a further four months in cask to ensure proper absorption.
Beyond juniper, the recipe includes botanicals such as génépi, almonds, grains of paradise, iris, cardamom, lemon, cinnamon, coriander, nutmeg, cubeb pepper, orange, star anise, violets, yuzu, fennel, cumin, cornflower, spice bark, angelica, licorice and savory.
