Adnams began life as a brewery in Southwold, Suffolk, founded in 1872, which opened its own distillery next to the brewhouse in 2010. The whisky is distilled using the same malt and yeast strains used in the beer production, creating a clear link between the house's two drinks categories. For newcomers it's a gentle way into English whisky, while collectors value the small, tightly controlled batch sizes that make every release a rarity outside the shadow of the big Scottish names.
