  Faer Isles New Make Single Malt is an unaged new make spirit from Faer Isles Distillery in Vestmanna, Faroe Islands, bottled at 59.5% in 20 cl. The distillery was founded in 2018 by Dánial Hoydal and Bogi Mouritsen, with production starting in February 2023, making Faer Isles one of the world's newest and most geographically remote distilleries. The whisky is distilled to capture the character of the climate — sea salt, humid air and powerful Atlantic winds. The distillery draws on a traditional Faroese method inspired by the raest technique, using an opnahjallur — a slatted building that exposes contents to the elements. This release was exclusive to the Founders Club.

  Tasting notes

  Nose

  Fresh and floral with spring character. Tropical fruit tones, apple-like esters and a faint suggestion of lightly smoked malt from the sea air.

  Palate

  Juicy and direct. Fruity sweetness — orchard fruit, light citrus — and a malty grain base carrying the spirit forward. The alcohol is present but not aggressive.

  Finish

  Short and clean with fresh grain and a hint of salt. A distillate that reveals its origins without concealing anything.

  Nobs Distillery Raw Spirit is a Danish Peated New Make spirit at 54.8%, bottled at 20 cl from the small farm distillery NOBS Distillery on Samsø. The distillery is run by Jens Knobelauch with a focus on whisky and apple brandy, using a traditional craft approach. Raw Spirit is the distillate in its most raw form — unaged, untouched and straight from the still. The peated malt gives a pronounced smoke character right from the new make stage. This is a limited release, partially sold directly at the distillery.

  Nose

  Strong peat notes up front. Light malt sweetness behind the smoke. Herbs and a slightly earthy quality.

  Palate

  Direct and intense. Smoke dominates but the malt keeps it in check. A light fruity sweetness and grain character.

Where Raw Spirit from the same distillery is bottled at 54.8% as the most raw expression of the distillate, Wildfire is the lighter take on the same peated malt spirit — softer in structure and more accessible in ABV, but still clearly smoked and malt-based. Both expressions are unaged new make spirits. NOBS Distillery is run by Jens Knobelauch as a farm distillery focused on craft production.

  Nose

  Smoke with a softer edge than Raw Spirit. Sweet malt, lightly herbal and faintly fruity. The peat is present but not overwhelming.

  Palate

  Smooth and smoky. Malt sweetness breaks through the smoke, giving a rounder profile than at 54.8%. Light grain notes.

  Finish

  Medium length with gentle smoke and malt. Drier than the nose suggests.
