Heaven's Door was created through a collaboration between music legend Bob Dylan and spirits entrepreneur Marc Bushala, officially launched in 2018. The name is drawn from Dylan's classic 1973 song 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door', and the brand is meant as a tribute to his passion for American whiskey's history and storytelling tradition. The distinctive iron gates featured on the bottles were created by Dylan himself at his own metalworking shop, Black Buffalo Ironworks, and several editions have showcased his paintings on hand-made ceramic bottles.

About Heaven's Door Whiskey

Heaven's Door is the American whiskey brand created in partnership with music legend Bob Dylan, named after his classic song "Knockin' on Heaven's Door." The bottles are adorned with Dylan's own ironwork art from his studio Black Buffalo Ironworks, and the range has won more than 35 awards, including double gold at both the New York World Wine and Spirits Competition and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

History & Background

The story begins in 2015, when Marc Bushala - former founder of Angel's Envy Bourbon - was looking for his next whiskey project alongside Ryan Perry, a whiskey developer at Diageo. The pair discovered that Dylan had trademarked the term "bootleg whiskey" and approached him about a collaboration. Three years later, in 2018, Dylan signed on and became a co-creator of the brand.

Heaven's Door spans several American whiskey styles, including bourbon, rye and blended whiskey, developed by a team with deep experience in the American spirits industry. Bushala and Perry's background from Angel's Envy and Diageo respectively shines through in a style that balances accessibility with complexity.
