About Marolo Grappa

Marolo has distilled grappa since 1977 in partnership with some of Italy's finest wine houses from areas like Langhe, Monferrato and Roero, all part of the UNESCO World Heritage. For newcomers it's a natural way into the world of grappa, with an accessible, aromatic style; for connoisseurs it's notable that, unlike many other producers, Marolo highlights single grape varieties in its grappas and distils in small batches on separate Bain Marie stills for white and red wine.

History & Background

Marolo was founded in 1977 with a clear ambition to distil the very essence of Italian wine culture into grappa, in close partnership with respected wine houses in Piedmont. From the outset, the distillery chose to work in small batches and to highlight single grape varieties rather than blending several together, an approach that stood out at the time in an industry where blended grappa was the norm. The method has since made Marolo one of the most respected names in Italian grappa.

Production & Style

Like many of the region's winemakers, Marolo focuses on expressing the terroir at its best, distilling single grape varieties and single crus from the Barolo area.

Signature Style

Terroir-Driven, Elegant, Clean
The flavour offers a distinct grape character that varies by variety, with a clean, elegant finish.
