Alain Jaume

A French wine house from the Rhône Valley, where the Jaume family has grown grapes for generations at the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Since 1826 the family has tended the land with a discipline that borders on the devotional. Every vintage forces them to adapt to nature's whims - more passion than trade, as they put it themselves.

About Alain Jaume

Alain Jaume is a French wine house from the southern Rhône, known for bold, multi-grape wines from Châteauneuf-du-Pape and beyond. For the newcomer, the house's Rhône wines are a solid way into the region's powerful, blended style. For the collector, it's notable that the Champauvins vineyard sits just a few hundred metres outside the official Châteauneuf-du-Pape boundary, so it sells for less even though the quality matches its bigger sibling.

History & Background

The Jaume family has grown wine in the Rhône Valley for generations and today runs several estates in the region's most prestigious appellations. Since 1826 the family has adapted production and technique from vintage to vintage according to the shifting moods of the grapes and the terroir, a discipline they themselves call more passion than trade.

Production & Style

The wines are typically a classic Rhône blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, delivering power and spicy depth.
