About A.H. Riise Cream

AH Riise Cream Liqueur is a creamy rum liqueur built on the legacy of pharmacist Albert Heinrich Riise, who founded the company on the island of St. Thomas in what was then the Danish West Indies. For the newcomer it's an easy, dessert-like experience of caramel and salt, lovely over ice or in coffee; for the history-minded, it's another chapter in AH Riise's long story, stretching from a 19th-century colonial pharmacy to today's range of rums and liqueurs.

History & Background

Albert Heinrich Riise opened his pharmacy on St. Thomas in 1838 and began trading rum and spices from the Danish colony in the Caribbean, a business that would grow into one of the region's best-known spirits names. After the Danish West Indies were sold to the United States in 1917, the AH Riise name lived on through rums and liqueurs inspired by the original Caribbean-Danish trading tradition. The cream editions are a more recent addition to the range, created to give the heritage a softer, more approachable side.
