BenRiach Speyside WhiskyThe BenRiach whisky distillery is located by Elgin at the Lossie river and has fought for its existence several times over. The distillery opened in the 1890’s but closed as soon as 1900. In 1965 BenRiach was reopened but had to close again in 2002. In 2004, new owners entered the scene, and there have since been a number of new BenRiach whisky-types on the market, with different taste denotations and cask-types. BenRiach produces approximately 1.5 million liters of alcohol a year and a big part of the production is used for blended whisky.
