About Ciroc Vodka

Cîroc is a French vodka that differs from most other vodka brands by being distilled from grapes rather than grain or potatoes. For newcomers that means a softer, subtly fruity taste that's easier to enjoy neat than most other vodkas; for collectors it's notable that the grape base gives Cîroc a production process closer to cognac than classic vodka, which has made the brand a staple in American hip-hop and cocktail culture.

History & Background

Cîroc launched in 2003 as an attempt to create a more refined, grape-based vodka that could appeal to a different audience than the classic grain and potato vodkas. The brand has since achieved huge reach, particularly within American cocktail culture.

Production & Style

The grapes, primarily Mauzac and Ugni Blanc, are distilled five times to create a smooth, clean vodka. The process resembles cognac production in many ways, minus the subsequent cask ageing.
