Moonshine

The history of Moonshine Whiskey or Corn Whiskey stretches back hundreds of years. However, it was in the years 1920-1933 that Moonshine whiskey really had its heyday. In 1920, the United States introduced "the noble experiment" which prohibited distilling strong spirits. However, this law met with great resistance and many began to secretly produce whiskey outside the system.

The illegal whiskey was distributed at night in the cut from the moon on small country roads, hence the name Moonshine.

At that time there was huge demand for the illegal whiskey, and the mafia quickly settled on the market. This meant that, in the year 1925, historically much moonshine whiskey was sold underground in Chicago, New York and Atlanta. The law prohibiting distilling and selling spirits ceased in 1933 and in just 13 years Mooneshine whiskey had become a legend throughout the United States.
