Bivrost Snaps

Beneath the Lyngen Alps run tunnels that once formed part of a Cold War NATO base. Today, Bivrost Snaps is aged in those very same tunnels, where the aquavit rests in darkness and stable temperature. It's Cold War infrastructure, reborn as a spirits maturation cellar.

About Bivrost Aquavit

This is a different, cask-matured, full-bodied aquavit with more sweetness than many others. Bivrost Cask Aquavit combines modern distillation technology with tradition, made from a base of traditional potato spirit, classic herbs and spices, blended with meltwater from the glacier in the Lyngen Alps. For the newcomer, the soft, full sweetness is an accessible entry into the aquavit category; for the connoisseur, the unusual ageing location, underground tunnels from a former Cold War NATO base, is a fascinating detail linking the product to northern Norway's military history.

History & Background

The brand draws on Norse mythological heritage in its branding, an approach that has become increasingly common among modern Scandinavian spirits producers.

Production & Style

The aquavit is distilled from potatoes and spiced with traditional Nordic herbs, often supplemented with local arctic botanicals, giving it a distinct Nordic character.

Signature Style

Spiced, Arctic, Authentic
The taste offers a spiced, Nordic character shaped by arctic botanicals and traditional aquavit herbs.
