Infernal Rum

Infernal was created by Lina Rafn and Paw Lagermann, two Danish musicians sharing a desire to capture the 90s techno nights in bottle form. Their gin is distilled following Spanish tradition, but with a clear Nordic twist of sea buckthorn giving a fresh, tangy edge. This is music's attitude, translated into spirit.

  • Bottle of Infernal Gin with sea buckthorn from Danish band Infernal
    Item no.: 22227333-7756

Having previously ventured into rum, Danish dance-pop band Infernal has now moved into gin. Ginfernal meets classic gin tradition with a Nordic twist of sea buckthorn.

    Expert's description

Infernal Gin, also known as Ginfernal, is a gin infused with sea buckthorn and bottled at 40%.

The gin is built on a classic base of juniper and citrus, but what truly sets it apart from other dry gins is the addition of sea buckthorn. The sweet-tart, wild berry gives the gin freshness and personality while keeping a recognisable, dry gin structure.

Juniper and citrus form the classic backbone, while sea buckthorn adds a tart fruitiness reminiscent of Nordic berries, orange peel, sea breeze and gentle herbal notes.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Tart sea buckthorn meets piney juniper and a fresh note of citrus peel.

    Palate

The palate is fresh and tart, with sea buckthorn up front, supported by juniper and a touch of sea breeze.

    Finish

The finish is dry and refreshing, with a last trace of herbs.

About Infernal

Infernal Rum & Gin was created by musicians Lina Rafn and Paw Lagermann, with a gin distilled following Spanish tradition and spiced with Nordic sea buckthorn. For newcomers it's an accessible, characterful gin with a fresh, tangy dimension; commercially, the musical connection attracts a younger audience who wouldn't necessarily otherwise seek out classic gin.

History & Background

The brewery is part of the Danish microbrewery wave that truly took off in the 2000s and 2010s, when smaller Danish producers began experimenting with styles far beyond the classic pilsner.

Production & Style

Infernal works with powerful malt profiles and often high hop rates, giving the beers an intense, pronounced character that sets them apart from more subdued beer styles.

Signature Style

Powerful, Intense, Experimental
