Copperhead Gin

A Belgian pharmacist with a taste for flavour began experimenting with gin one quiet Sunday – and discovered that a chemist's precision suits distilling remarkably well. Copperhead is the result: a gin built like a formula, where every botanical is weighed with real intent.

  • Bottle of Copperhead Black Batch London Dry Gin from Belgium
    Item no.: 2222786539-6037

Classic London Dry style meets modern boldness, as Copperhead lets black Ceylon tea and elderberry play alongside juniper and cardamom in this intense edition.

    Expert's description

Copperhead Black Batch London Dry Gin is a Belgian London Dry Gin, bottled at 42%.

The gin is built on seven botanicals: juniper, orange zest, coriander seeds, angelica and cardamom, joined by the more unconventional elderberry and black Ceylon tea.

The combination of classic gin botanicals with black tea gives Black Batch a depth and complexity that sets it apart from the house's other editions.

The result is an intensely flavoured, classically styled London Dry Gin with cardamom spice and Ceylon tea as a running theme.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

The nose is classic pine with lavender, camphor and overripe banana from the juniper, joined by black Ceylon tea leaves, cardamom, coriander, zesty orange and a faint hint of sage.

    Palate

The palate is dry, piney juniper, enlivened by black pepper and cardamom spice and Ceylon tea with overripe banana and a faint hint of orange.

    Finish

The finish is piney juniper and cardamom spice.

Developed by a pharmacist and named after the alchemists' old copper distillation equipment, Copperhead follows a minimalist philosophy, letting just five botanicals carry the entire flavour.

    Expert's description

Copperhead London Dry Gin is a Belgian London Dry Gin, bottled at 40%.

The gin is built on just five botanicals: juniper, cardamom, orange peel, angelica and coriander.

The minimalist, elegant recipe results in a balanced, fresh and spicy flavour profile, where the cardamom is allowed to stand out clearly.

With only five botanicals, Copperhead sets itself apart from many other contemporary gins that often rely on a dozen or more ingredients.

    Nose

The nose is sweet with plenty of citrus, where citrus and cardamom stand out with a touch of sugar.

    Palate

The palate is pleasant and soft, with a slightly sugary note alongside clear notes of cedar and cardamom.

About Copperhead

Copperhead Gin was created by Belgian pharmacist Yvan Vindelvogel, who brought his professional precision straight into the gin glass. For newcomers it is an accessible, well-balanced gin with a clear identity; for the more curious collector, the whole brand is built on the idea of turning the drinker into their own 'alchemist', crafting a personal elixir through the way it's served.

History & Background

The story begins in 2013, when trained pharmacist Yvan Vindelvogel started experimenting with botanicals and distillation in his spare time. Curiosity grew into a full gin project, and his pharmacy background gave him a distinctive eye for the balance of flavour, aroma and character. Copperhead launched as a gin built on precision rather than guesswork, its name a nod to the copper stills at the heart of the craft. Since then the brand has grown from a single recipe into a range of expressions that still carry the founder's scientific approach.

Production & Style

The gin is distilled with juniper and a modern composition of botanicals, often including cardamom and citrus.

Signature Style

Spiced, Citrus, Modern
The taste offers a spiced, citrus-driven character with a modern finish.
