Bodegas Bleda Wine

A historic bodega from Jumilla, known for powerful Monastrell wines. Bodegas Bleda was founded in 1915 and has held on to the local grape ever since, one that thrives in the region's dry, hot climate. This is wine that carries the taste of the Spanish interior without trying to resemble anything else.

About Bodegas Bleda

Bodegas Bleda is a Spanish bodega from the Jumilla region, with family roots dating back to 1915.

History & Background

Bodegas Bleda was founded in 1915 in the Jumilla region of southeastern Spain and is today run by the fourth generation of the same family. The region was for many years known for cheap bulk wine, but has undergone a quality revolution since the 1990s, with producers like Bodegas Bleda focusing on low yields from old, often over a century old, Monastrell vines. Jumilla's dry, warm climate and sandy soil historically protected the region from the phylloxera louse, meaning many vineyards have never had to be replanted. Bodegas Bleda is today regarded as one of the leading names behind Jumilla's resurgence as a quality region.

Production & Style

The grapes grow in Jumilla's warm, dry climate, giving the local Monastrell grape a bold, concentrated character.

Signature Style

Bold, Fruity, Sun-Ripened
The wine offers a bold, fruity character with a sun-ripened finish.
