Ojo de Tigre Mezcal

Ojo de Tigre was born in Mexico in 2018, founded by Luis Gerardo Mendez, who together with Casa Lumbre insists on preserving mezcal's raw craftsmanship. The blend of sweet, smoky Espadin from Oaxaca and herbal, complex Tobala from Puebla has earned gold at several international competitions. About Ojo de Tigre

Ojo de Tigre is a Mexican mezcal founded in 2018 by Luis Gerardo Mendez in partnership with Casa Lumbre. For newcomers, the blend of sweet Espadin and herbal Tobala is an accessible entry into mezcal; commercially, the name is backed by a string of awards, including gold at the IWSC Awards and World Spirits Competition in 2022, lending the bottle credibility among connoisseurs.

History & Background

Ojo de Tigre launched in Mexico in 2018, founded by Luis Gerardo Mendez, before the brand also reached the US market in 2020. From the start, Mendez has worked closely with Casa Lumbre, a Mexican spirits house known for supporting new agave-based brands, to ensure production stays true to mezcal's artisanal roots. The combination of Espadin from Oaxaca and Tobala from Puebla was developed as a deliberate balance between accessibility and complexity, a strategy that quickly earned the brand several international awards within just a few years.

Production & Style

The mezcal is distilled from agave roasted in traditional earthen pits, giving it its distinctive smokiness.

Signature Style

Smoky, Intense, Earthy
The flavour is intensely smoky, with a deep, earthy structure.
