About ELG Marc

Marc is a classic French spirit style made from the skins, seeds and stems left over from winemaking, and ELG has brought that craft tradition home to the Danish distilling scene. The result is a spirit with a raw, grape-driven character, quite different from the house's better-known gin.

History & Background

ELG is part of the growing Danish craft distilling scene, where smaller producers experiment with classic European spirit styles and add a local twist. The Marc is an example of how Danish distilleries draw inspiration from well beyond the country's borders and use it to expand what Danish spirits can be.

Production & Style

Leftover grape pressings, known as pomace, are fermented further and distilled so the last traces of sugar and flavour from skins and seeds become a powerful, grape-driven spirit.

Rustic, Grapey, Powerful
A raw, earthy grape character with notes of skin and pip, closer in spirit to Italian grappa than to a smooth cognac.
