Camus Pére & Fils

A French cognac house not to be confused with the big Camus name, following its own family-run path. The family has lived in Gevrey-Chambertin for over two centuries, though it only turned its focus seriously to wine in the 1900s. Today the house still works by the old methods, passed down from generation to generation.

    Finish

About Camus Pére & Fils

Camus Pére & Fils is a French, family-run cognac house producing cognac by classic methods on a smaller scale. For the newcomer, it's a genuine, approachable introduction to cognac without the price tag of the big-name house. For the collector, smaller family-owned cognac houses like Camus Pére & Fils are interesting precisely because they often hold older reserves and more personal styles than the big trading houses.

History & Background

The house is part of the tradition of smaller, family-owned cognac houses operating alongside the larger, internationally known names in the region. From the 1920s the house began bottling instead of selling in bulk, and since 1974 Hubert Camus has carried forward the old school methods passed down from his ancestors.

Production & Style

The cognac is distilled from Ugni Blanc grapes using the classic charentais method with double distillation in a copper pot still, then aged in Limousin oak.

Signature Style

Fruity, Round, Authentic
The flavor varies by age classification, but shares an authentic, artisanal cognac character.
