Laggan Mill Whisky

Someone knows exactly which distillery lies behind Laggan Mill, but the rules say it can't be named out loud. Brian Crook, the man behind The Coopers Choice, has selected single malts from a Southshore Islay distillery, meaning either Lagavulin, Laphroaig or Ardbeg, without ever revealing which. That turns every bottle into a small guessing game for the initiated.

    Item no.: 059763-615-1062

Not every great dram carries a famous name on the label — Laggan Mill is proof that quiet distilleries can still produce remarkable whisky. This particular release from Islay shows a side of the distillery worth slowing down for.

About Laggan Mill

Laggan Mill is a whisky series created by Brian Crook, the man behind The Coopers Choice. The series consists of selected single malts from a distillery that cannot be named, but it's a Southshore Islay distillery, meaning either Lagavulin, Laphroaig or Ardbeg. For the newcomer it's a peaty, characterful Islay whisky without the higher price tag the source distillery's own name would carry; for the connoisseur, each bottle becomes a small detective task, where the flavour itself has to reveal which of the three famous distilleries is hiding behind the label.

History & Background

There is not much publicly available history on Laggan Mill, and the house keeps a relatively low profile about its origins. What is clear is its position in the range, reflected in the style and character described above.

Production & Style

The whisky is blended from several malt whiskies following classic methods, giving it a smooth, approachable character.

Signature Style

Smooth, Approachable, Round
The whisky offers a smooth, approachable profile with a round finish.
