El Tequila Privado, it was once called - when the recipe belonged only to a handful of Mexico's most respected families and Los Bajos' finest jimadors. Código 1530 Añejo gives that legacy extra time to fully unfold in the barrel.
Expert Description
Código 1530 Añejo Tequila is a Mexican Añejo Tequila made from 100% agave, bottled at 38% ABV.
The tequila is distilled at Varo Destilería (NOM 1616) in Amatitán, Jalisco, following the same family recipe used across the Código 1530 range. The Añejo expression rests for a full 18 months in French white oak barrels previously used for Napa Valley red wine, resulting in a more complex, structured tequila than the Reposado. Código 1530 uses only fully matured lowland Blue Weber Agave, with no added sugar, colouring or other additives.
