For generations, the recipe was known only to a select circle of Mexico's most respected families and the finest jimadors of Los Bajos. Código 1530 carries that legacy forward, drop by drop, honouring a craft once reserved for the initiated.
Expert Description
Código 1530 Reposado Tequila is a Mexican Reposado Tequila made from 100% agave, bottled at 38% ABV.
The tequila is distilled at Varo Destilería (NOM 1616) in Amatitán, Jalisco - the town widely considered the birthplace of tequila itself. The brand's name refers to the year 1530, when Amatitán was officially recognised as a town, and the label carries the Jerusalem Cross from Jalisco's coat of arms as a nod to that history. Código 1530 uses only fully matured Blue Weber Agave and Amatitán's own spring water, filtered through the volcanic soil of Los Bajos, with no added sugar, colouring or other additives.
