Stig Bareksten developed his gin based on Norwegian ingredients and a philosophy that Nordic terroir could be expressed as clearly in gin as in whisky or aquavit. Oss Craft Distillery was chosen as the production site, where gin became part of a broader Norwegian craft scene that has grown markedly in recent years. Bareksten is today one of the best-known Norwegian gin names internationally, a development that has helped put Norway on the global gin map.
