About Bodegas Aragonesas Wine

Bodegas Aragonesas was founded in 1984 by members of the former cooperative in Fuendejalón, who wanted to raise the overall quality of their wines and take charge of marketing them themselves. Today the bodega is by far the largest in Campo de Borja, with around 3,900 hectares, of which 1,200 hectares consist of Grenache vines between 40 and 110 years old. For newcomers it's an accessible entry into powerful, fruit-rich Spanish red wine, while connoisseurs value the concentration and depth of the old vines, supported by the bodega's own team of oenologists.

History & Background

The bodega was founded in 1984, when members of the former cooperative in Fuendejalón decided to break away and take charge of both production and marketing themselves, rather than supplying grapes to a larger collective organization. The decision required investment in their own equipment and expertise, including a team of oenologists to advise the affiliated grape growers on vineyard management and treatments. Since then, Bodegas Aragonesas has grown to become by far the largest producer in Campo de Borja, with an area that today accounts for the majority of the district's total wine production.

Production & Style

The wines are made primarily from Garnacha grapes, grown on old vines in the region's dry, warm climate.
