  The whisky was distilled at England's Cotswolds Distillery, but selected, further matured and bottled by the independent bottler That Boutique-Y Whisky Company. It is the bottler's very first batch from Cotswolds Distillery, distilled in 2018 and bottled in November that same year as Batch 1, in a run of 1,783 bottles. The malt is 100% locally grown Cotswolds barley.

  Tasting Notes

  Nose

  Caramelised almonds, sweet pineapple and cherries, with a soft hint of vanilla underneath.

  Palate

  Citrus-driven, with notes of lemon, orange and grapefruit that give a fresh, sweet character.

  Finish

  Short to medium, with a lingering citrus freshness and a hint of youthful malt sweetness.

  Expert's Description

  Cotswolds 2022 Golden Wold is a blended single malt English whisky matured across three cask types and bottled at 52.5% ABV.

  Golden Wold is the opening release in Cotswolds Distillery's annual Harvest Series, a series built around the harvest itself, on the very fields where the distillery's barley is grown. The whisky combines spirit matured in bourbon casks, STR-treated (Shaved, Toasted, Re-charred) ex-red wine casks, and casks that previously held peated whisky, bottled in September 2022 in a run of 5,000 bottles.

  The presentation tube carries original artwork by local artist Josephine Trotter, a tribute to the Cotswolds landscape the whisky is named after.

  Tasting Notes

  Nose

  Sun-warmed hay, caramelised honey and soft oaken vanilla, rounded off by a fleeting suggestion of smoke in the background.

  Palate

  Silky cream and custard meet toasted oak, cocoa nibs and warm baking spices for a full, rounded character.

  The whisky is the third release in Cotswolds Distillery's Hearts & Crafts series, which celebrates the craftsmanship tradition of the Arts & Crafts movement that flourished in the Cotswolds. The spirit is matured in rejuvenated French oak casks that previously held red wine and were subsequently seasoned with fine Caribbean rum, before being bottled in 2022 in a run of 3,000 bottles.

  The tube is decorated with an exclusive William Morris-inspired design, a visual tribute to the series.
