1800 Tequila

The number on the bottle isn't random - 1800 is the year the world's first premium tequila was said to be created. The brand carries that history straight onto the label and has since built an entire philosophy around making tequila accessible without compromising on quality. This is tequila for someone new to the category who doesn't want to start on the cheapest shelf.

  • Dark amber bottle of 1800 Añejo Tequila with signature label
    Item no.: 22227865479-10226

At the historic La Rojeña distillery in the town of Tequila, the Beckmann family has been resting their tequila in oak since 1800 – the very number the brand has carried as its name ever since. 1800 Añejo is the result of that legacy: dark, round and full of time spent in French and American oak.

    Expert Description

1800 Añejo is a Mexican Añejo Tequila made from 100% Blue Weber Agave and bottled at 38% alcohol. It comes from the 1800 Tequila brand, distilled at the historic La Rojeña distillery in the town of Tequila, Jalisco – the same distillery where Casa Cuervo has made tequila since the Cuervo family acquired the land in 1758. 1800 Tequila is, however, its own brand within the Cuervo group, launched in 1967 as a tribute to the year the Beckmann family first rested tequila in oak.

1800 Añejo is aged for a minimum of 14 months in French oak, giving it its deep amber colour and a round, spicy character. The bottle's trapezoidal shape draws on the Mayan pyramids found across Mexico, and each bottle carries a batch number along with the signature of the brand's current owner, Juan Domingo Beckmann.

    Item no.: 22227865479-10227

A few months resting in French and American oak is enough to turn clear tequila into golden honey. 1800 Reposado is the milder, sweeter side of the same family's 250-year-old craft.

    Expert Description

1800 Reposado is a Mexican Reposado Tequila made from 100% Blue Weber Agave and bottled at 38% alcohol. Like the rest of the range, it is distilled at the historic La Rojeña distillery in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, where Casa Cuervo has made tequila since 1758. 1800 Tequila is its own brand within the Cuervo group, named after 1800 – the year the Beckmann family first rested tequila in oak.

1800 Reposado rests for a minimum of 6 months in a combination of French and American oak, giving it a golden honey colour and a round, lightly smoky character. The same trapezoidal bottle and batch-number signature that mark the whole 1800 family carry through here too.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Oak-laced agave with a touch of spice.

    Palate

Rich caramel, mild spice and a hint of smokiness.
