Kyro Whisky

Kyrö Distillery Company was established by Miika Lipiäinen, Mikko Koskinen, Kalle Valkonen, Miko Heinilä and Jouni Ritola on 29 August 2012 in Isokyrö, Finland. The distillery itself was built next to the River Kyrö in a 1908-built cheese factory which used to produce Finnish Oltermanni cheese, and was inspired by an ingredient they considered vital in their country: rye.

This limited edition is crafted from 100% malted Finnish rye and matured in a combination of ex‑bourbon casks and French oak, giving the whisky a depth and elegance that stand out in both flavour and character. On the nose, bright cereal notes meet apple, apricot, tonka bean, chestnut and a soft beeswax sweetness. The palate opens with fruit sweetness and toasted grains, followed by crème brûlée, gentle rye spice and warm roasted chestnut that rounds off the experience with finesse.

Whisky of Fire is the result of a rare collaboration between Kyrö Distillery and House Targaryen – a whisky created in the spirit of fire, strength and Nordic rawness. This limited edition is made from 100% smoked, malted rye, distilled in Finland and shaped by a climate that gives the whisky its characteristic depth and intensity.

After ageing in ex‑bourbon casks and a final period in old rum casks, the whisky develops a complex and distinctive profile. The aroma offers toasted rye, spiced apple compote and an elegant hint of smoke. The palate is layered and full‑bodied, where the smoke weaves together with sweet grain notes, minerality, blackberry and a refreshing touch of menthol.
