Finnish distillery Kyrö partnered with HBO's Game of Thrones universe to create two whiskies inspired by House Targaryen's motto 'fire and blood'. Kyrö is known for using exclusively rye as its grain, an unusual approach in the whisky world.

The nose offers cereal, apple and apricot, layered with tonka bean, chestnut and beeswax.
Palate
The palate is sweet and fruity with rye spice, chestnut and a hint of crème brûlée.

About Kyrö

Kyrö Distillery Company was founded in 2014 by a group of friends in the small town of Isokyrö in western Finland, with 100% rye as the distillery's trademark. The distillery is known both for its gin, Napue, and its rye whisky, marketed under the name Kyrö Malt.

History & Background

The founders, nine friends with no prior distilling experience, decided to build the distillery in a disused dairy building in Isokyrö, a region historically known for rye cultivation. The untraditional choice of 100% malted rye as the raw material, a rare practice even among rye whiskies, has become the distillery's signature and earned it international recognition.

Production & Style

The whisky is distilled exclusively from malted rye, giving a spicy, powerful distillate matured in a mix of American and European oak casks.
